University of Washington

Makerere University

Makerere University was founded in 1922 in Kampala, Uganda. Although initially established as a technical school, Makerere University has become one of the most prestigious Universities in Africa. Its Health Sciences division includes schools of medicine, pharmacy, public health, and nursing to educate health professionals from Uganda and beyond. One of the institution’s primary aims is to improve the health of the people of Uganda and beyond by promoting health equity through quality education, research and health services.



Johns Hopkins University

Johns Hopkins University is located in Baltimore, MD, USA. The university boasts an illustrious history of achievement in public health, medicine, health research and education. More than 130 years after its founding, the institution remains one of the world’s leaders in health provision, training, and innovation.



Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences

Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences serves Tanzania’s health sciences training and research needs. MUHAS is located in Dar es Salaam,  and maintains a range of programmes in basic, clinical and allied health sciences. The university seeks to supply Tanzania with key policy makers, experts, and health sector personnel and catalyze health sector reforms through research and public health education. These aims support the university’s attempt to promote quality health through education, training, research and health services for attainment of equitable socio-economic development.



University of California San Francisco

University of California San Francisco is dedicated to promoting health worldwide through advanced biomedical research, graduate-level education in the life sciences and health professions, and excellence in patient care. It is the only campus in the University of California system dedicated exclusively to the health sciences. UCSF’s innovative, collaborative approaches for health care, research and education span disciplines across the health sciences and make it a world leader in scientific discovery and its translation into improved health.



University of Botswana

University of Botswana is located in the Gabarone, the capitol of Botwana. The university currently trains doctors, nurses, and other Allied Health professionals to meet the nation’s health needs, and it is in the process of developing a School of Public Health. The University of Botswana seeks to improve economic and social conditions for the Nation while advancing itself as a distinctively African university with a regional and international outlook.

University of Pennsylvania is one of the oldest universities in the United States and remains one of the world’s most prestigious institutions of higher learning. Penn is rich in tradition and heritage and at the same time consistently at the forefront of new developments and innovations in medical education and research. Its programs emphasize compassion and intellectual achievement and are renowned for excellence in education, clinical practice, and research.
